Amsterdam is a magnificent city for Photography. Not only the landmarks present an ideal opportunity to make great urban landscape shots, but also the people you meet on the streets make a colorful palette from which you can pick and choose.
Here are some photos shot in Amsterdam during the last couple of days. They are, I hope, not usual tourist photos, but what I have classified in my mind as travel photography; little things, snaps and details that aim to describe the mood and feel of a place: what is known as the Genius Loci.
Not a huge number, but it’s really difficult to pick, edit for the web and publish, while on the road. I have scores of other photos, which will appear in several long term street or urban projects in the near future.
Technically speaking, I have faced some trouble with the combination of tablet/external HD/processing software. In fact I’m thinking just using the smartphone would give better results in some cases (Snapseed is ultra powerful). Nevertheless, I even found a way to watermark the photos, using a site called watermark.ws (this is why you’ll find watermarks in different sizes, for which I apologize…).
All in all though, on the road workflow seems to work, all things considered, although I’m still working on the details.
Here are the pictures, hope you enjoy
