Essay: old French cars (and bikes)

Essay: old French cars (and bikes)

Last Sunday I had the chance to photograph at an annual classic cars meeting, organized by the ORCA club of Greece.

The theme for this event was historic French cars, and, although St. Valentine probably claimed a lot of potential participants, there were several examples of nicely restored and conserved vehicles on the site.

Even more interesting, because it's a sight we don't see that often, was the presence of a small number of pre-WWII, French build motor-bikes.

On a technical note, these were shot with the Fuji X-E2 and the 14mm f/2.8 and 35mm f/1.4 lenses. Velvia film simulation was used through-out. The X-E2 featured the latest firmware update which, to be honest, transforms it into an entirely new beast! In this case I really appreciated the new electronic shutter feature, enabling especially the 35mm to shoot wide-open under bright overcast or even direct sunshine conditions. Kudos to Fuji once again for Kaizen!
