Essay: a morning with some beautiful old bikes

Essay: a morning with some beautiful old bikes

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph at an event organized in Athens, Greece, by the Hellenic Classic Motorcycle Club.

The event was dedicated to old bikes with small displacement engines.

Participation was huge; it's a great feeling to discover so many people share a passion for vintage motorcycles. The event also had a tremendous public response, since it was held in an open space near the historical center of the city.

This time, instead of trying to capture the feeling of the event, I concentrated on details, recording, with the outmost care and respect,  the mechanical beauty of these wonderful machines; some dating more than a century back. Their level of restoration and attention in detail, I believe, is more than evident and I like to think I manage to show a little of the love and effort their owners invested to them.

Hope you enjoy the gallery!

(equipment used: Olympus E-M1 with Zuiko 45mm f/1.8 and Panasonic Summilux 25mm f/1.4. All photos with the new O-MD "Vintage" in-camera filter).
